7th Queens Own Hussars and The Leicestershire Yeomanry (Prince Albert's Own)

Aldershot 1932

The Leicestershire Yeomanry had a long and close association with the 7th Hussars. Captain D P Tolamache of the 7th Hussars (7th Cav Brigade Major) led the final charge of the LY at Frezenberg in 1915 ..... shouting as he led:

"Come on Men, I am not afraid to go into action with brave fellows like you!"

The LY and the 7th suffered the same fate in 1957, both chosen for amalgamation under the changes within the regular and reserve army.
