Cap Badge Variants

c1908-15

Officer's White metal
Originally a 1st pattern Collar badge, then used as a Cap badge.

K&K 1318
The crest of the Prince Consort with a scroll above inscribed Leicestershire and a scroll below this inscribed Prince Albert's Own I.Y. Below this a third scroll inscribed South Africa 1900-02. *Also found in White Silver Collar Badge 1908-27 (see below), and bronze Cap & Collar 1915-27 (see below).
* This is a reference to the "un-classified"  pattern collar badge produced in 1908, that replaced "I.Y." on the right scroll with "YEO". This pattern was then used to produce a bronze OSD badge c1915 to 1928 and then a later Other Ranks gilding-metal cap badge (to replace the O/R economy badge KK1423)  post c1920 to 1928.

Bronze OSD c1915-28, maker unknown.

Bronzed metal cast cap/collar badge, this copy has been taken directly from the Officers IY collar badge and had the change "YEO" put into the top/lower right ribbon end. Its hard to tell if this is a genuine badge made for Officers serving c1915-19 or if its a copy made for the collectors market in the mid 20th century (the white braize around the loops indicates a copy)?
